Mr. Kaufman, a co-founder of Kaufman Bros. L.P., provides a key link to Silicon Valley. His venture banking background and extensive network of contacts in the venture capital and entrepreneurial communities are key attributes he brings to our firm.

Mr. Kaufman recently assumed the role of Head of Investment Banking after having spent the last decade as Director of Research. Additionally, Mr. Kaufman often serves as the firm’s recruiting principal.

Before founding Kaufman Bros., Mr. Kaufman was a vice president and co-founder of the Special Markets Group at Imperial Bank in Silicon Valley. The Special Markets Group was a focused venture-banking practice providing secured credit facilities, bridge loans, acquisition financing and equity investments to venture capital-backed technology companies. Mr. Kaufman played an early role in the financing of technology startups while working as a banker in Silicon Valley Bank's Technology Group -- a leading nationwide technology banking practice.

Mr. Kaufman received his Bachelor's Degree of Science in Business Administration from the Boston University School of Management.
